How do I find out if ABC International Development can work with my organisation?

Do you work only with broadcasters?

We work with all media, including broadcast (television and radio), online, print and other media

Can ABC International Development fund my project or organisation?

We welcome requests from media organisations for advice and/or funding.

We are not a donor agency, so are rarely able to provide funding for media development activities.

However, we are happy to work with you to find the most appropriate funding agency; and to design and select activities to meet your organisation’s goals and requirements.

How is ABC International Development funded?

Development assistance bodies and funding agencies such as AusAID fund many of our activities.

We can arrange other initiatives directly with national and commercial media organizations on a fee-for-service basis.

How many people do you employ?

International Development employs about 25 staff based in Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

What is your relationship with the ABC?

ABC International Development is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s self-funding consultancy enterprise. We are part of the ABC’s International Division alongside Australia Network Television, Radio Australia, and International Relations.

The ABC is Australia’s only national, non-commercial broadcaster. It is also Australia’s largest broadcaster, employing more than 4,000 people to provide radio, television and online services as well as ABC-related products to people in Australia and around the world.

What countries do you work in?

The ABC has worked with the media throughout Asia (including Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, East Timor, Bhutan Hong Kong and The Maldives); the Pacific, (New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati, Nauru and the Cook Islands); Africa (South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Kenya); Iran and the Middle East.
