The 2013 Citizen Access to Information in Vanuatu study was commissioned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation International Development (ABC ID) and funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). The study was conducted by InterMedia with local data collection partner, Wan Smolbag. The Citizen Access to Information in Vanuatu study provides insights into how citizens communicate in Vanuatu, what information channels they use and why, what information is trusted and their perceptions of development aid. Importantly, this report provides key insights for addressing citizens’ needs in Vanuatu to achieve greater development impact and influence and to optimise citizen engagement strategies in Vanuatu.
Four topic reports with additional analysis at the provincial level were generated for stakeholders to assist with designing more targeted programs and campaigns. These are:
(i) Media access and media use in Vanuatu
(ii) Domestic violence
(iii) Land issues
(iv) Health issues
