We provide assistance with all areas of broadcast and media-related organisations, from strategic management to content production.
Often we work in association with development assistance bodies and funding agencies. We also work directly with media organisations on a fee-for-service basis.
Cambodia
Following six successful years developing talkback radio in Phnom Penh and with funds from AusAID, ABC International Development in Cambodia is now focusing its work entirely on the Provincial Department of Information in Battambang, Kampong Cham and Kampot provinces. The ABC is working with Vietnam Television (VTV) and Hanoi Radio and Television to improve professional standards of journalism and programming in the public interest.
East Timor
Radio Television Timor Leste has invited the ABC to advise on maintaining its broadcast equipment.
PACMAS
PACMAS, or the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme, brings together media organisations from 14 Pacific Island nations to support better governance in the region by contributing to the development of a diverse, independent and professional Pacific media system.
Solomon Islands
We are working with professionals from across the media sector in Solomon Islands, including print, radio and television, to improve their effectiveness and capacity.
Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea’s National Broadcasting Corporation has invited the ABC to help strengthen its capacity as PNG’s national public broadcaster.
Vanuatu
We are working with Vanuatu’s national broadcaster to strengthen its overall organisational capacity and develop its radio service, Radio Vanuatu.
